 The Precision for Medicine biobank provides human biospecimens for research, including blood and biofluids such as plasma, serum, CSF, saliva, urine, and stool; tissue samples such as FFPE and fresh frozen tissue; matched tissue and blood samples from the same subject; and viable cell products such as PBMCs, BMMCs, dissociated tumor cells, purified cell subsets, and cryopreserved leukopaks. If the required biospecimens are not available in inventory, Precision also supports custom biospecimen collection based on study-specific inclusion criteria, sample handling requirements, and downstream research applications.

 Precision for Medicine biospecimens can include clinical annotations and metadata such as demographic information, diagnosis, treatment history, disease category, concurrent medical conditions, current medications, primary test results, and collection details. Depending on the biospecimen type, available data may also include pathology review, percent tumor content, percent necrosis, digital H&E images, genomic data, transcriptomic data, epigenomic data, biomarker results, cell viability, HLA type, viral status, and other fit-for-purpose molecular or phenotypic annotations to support translational and biomarker research.

Precision for Medicine biospecimens are collected under ethical and regulatory-compliant processes, including informed consent for consented clinical samples, IRB-approved collection protocols, and appropriate waiver-of-consent processes for eligible remnant diagnostic specimens. Samples are sourced through standardized procedures designed to support research integrity, traceability, and responsible biospecimen procurement.

 Precision for Medicine supports biospecimen quality through standardized collection, processing, storage, and shipping procedures, with chain-of-custody oversight across the specimen lifecycle. Depending on the sample type, support may include controlled storage conditions, dry ice shipment, pathology confirmation, digital H&E review, and laboratory expertise from CAP-accredited and CLIA-certified environments. Precision also provides pathologist oversight and validated biomarker support for selected tissue-based applications, including immunohistochemistry services.
